Brown and Brunette Balayage
Not all Balayage is created equal
All balayage is NOT created equally. A naturally dark brunette needs different color placement than a natural blonde. Balayage is characterized by sporadic highlights placed throughout the hair, very similar to painting techniques; this is where the term “hair painting” applies. With brunette hair, the goal is to ad pops of brightness while still keeping a client’s natural dimension. Balayage is a great way to maintain contrast; when painting you only need to saturate the top of the section, unlike foils when you are saturating through an entire section. This technique allows for a “natural” lowlight that keeps dimension and helps add depth to the final balayage look. From dark brown to caramel, a well painted balayage can provide dimension and long lasting “lived in” hair look that many clients are craving.
